Cashpin partnered with Visa International to develop Visa Giro, a service that enables recipients of money transfers to receive funds by means of electronic credit to pre-paid locally-issued Visa cards. Cashpin assisted in the modification of Visa's prepaid platform for Visa Buxx and Visa Travel Money to incorporate all elements of a money transfer service. In 2002, Cashpin launched the first Visa Giro service in Mexico in partnership with Banco Bital (now HSBC México), the largest Visa Electron issuer in Latin America. That same year, Cashpin launched Visa Giro in the Dominican Republic in partnership with Banco Mercantil (now Republic Bank of Trinidad and Tobago).
