RQI ANNOUNCES the LAUNCH of DESTINOSM MONEY TRANSFER
Lawrenceville, GA May 1, 2009 --RQI (Remesas Quisqueyana, Inc.), a leading provider of electronic funds transfer services, today announced it has launched DESTINOSM, its second money transfer brand that will target those senders from Mexico, Central & South America and other non-Spanish speaking countries.
Quisqueyana® has been RQI’s core remittance brand for the past 20 years and will continue to be their core brand throughout the North and South East Regions of the U.S. & Puerto Rico targeting Caribbean customers. In the indigenous Taino language, Quisqueyana means “a person from the island of Hispaniola”. RQI’s reach into the Caribbean market with Quisqueyana has been effective and its reputation is solid and they are now poised to expand their reach to other non-Caribbean customers with a name that resonates with them more than Quisqueyana does. Therefore, the company will concentrate on introducing and building the Destino brand in the South, Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, Central and Western areas of the US and Canada.
“Our new brand, Destino, was chosen after a lengthy search for something that would strike a chord and connect with any our immigrant customers. The idea of a destination, our destiny or fate is a light that unconsciously shines within each of us and we feel our choice is strong and will offer our customers a new top-of-mind option when sending money back home.” said Mario Trujillo, President and CEO of RQI. In addition Trujillo says Destino is “easy to pronounce in both English and Spanish.”
