Affiliations National Money Transmitters Association Quisqueyana is a founding member of the National Money Transmitter Association (NMTA), which was established in 1999 to represent the interests of independent money transmitters in the Unites States. NMTA serves as a forum where members can discuss issues facing the industry and work together to address common concerns, particularly in the regulatory area. NMTA representatives regularly meet with state and federal regulators and legislators. In addition, NMTA has developed a "Best Practices" policy to address common compliance issues, to which its members adhere. NMTA also sponsors industry conferences, provides educational materials and collects, updates and disseminates industry information. Ernesto E. Armenteros serves on NMTA's Board of Directors and Mohamed Chalabi is the chairman of NMTA's bank relations committee. The Inter-American Dialogue is a Washington, D.C. think tank that analyzes policies and issues related to Western Hemispheric affairs. The Dialogue engages public and private leaders from across the Americas in an effort to develop and mobilize support for cooperative responses to key hemispheric problems and opportunities. Quisqueyana is an associate member of the Dialogue, represented by Ernesto E. Armenteros. He has been a panelist at events sponsored by the Dialogue. Since 2002, Quisqueyana and the Dialogue have collaborated in an intensive study of the effect of money transfers from the United States to Latin America, and the role of such transfers in Latin American economic development. One result of the study is a significant paper by Dr. Manuel Orozco, Central American Project Director of the Dialogue, entitled "Attracting Remittances: Practices to Reduce Costs and Enable a Money Transfer Environment". In addition, in the Dominican Republic, Quisqueyana is a member of the Dominican-American Chamber of Commerce, the Fundación Dominicana de Desarrollo, Progressio, and other institutions that promote philanthropy and regional commerce.
