Ms. Hernandez has extensive experience in leading support operations services in the money remittance industry. In her latest assignment as Vice President of Operations for RQI, Ms. Hernandez is currently responsible for the Customer and Agent Care Divisions, Credit and Collections, managing RQI’s 25 proprietary offices throughout the US and Puerto Rico and overall facilities management. Upon joining the company she was tasked with the evaluation, organization, planning and leading of the potential outsourcing of RQI’s Customer Care and Telephone based product. Her decision to outsource resulted in a direct and immediate cost savings to the company’s bottom line. Additionally, Ms. Hernandez was responsible for establishing RQI’s new headquarters in Lawrenceville, Georgia which included planning with and managing the multiple vendors assisting with the physical layout, wiring, telephony and furnishing of the premises. She also led the coordination of the relocation of more than 25 employees and their families from the New York City area.
In April 2009, Ms Hernandez was appointed Chief Compliance Officer for RQI. In her additional role as CCO, she will be responsible for providing guidance on issues relating to all regulatory and compliance matters in accordance to federal and state laws regulations. She will oversee all areas of compliance, including but not limited to, training, monitoring, licensing, reporting and record keeping.
From 2003 to 2007 she served as Vice President of Operations for Vigo Remittance Corp., the largest privately held money transfer company in the industry. Ms. Hernandez oversaw the Customer and Agent Care Divisions, touching all aspects of the agent and transaction cycle. Under her leadership, Vigo held the highest respect in the industry for its outstanding and personalized agent and customer service. She led her teams through the development and deployment of Vigo’s online POS system. Ms. Hernandez and her departments were consistently recognized year after year for the high degree of professionalism and excellent service within the industry. After Vigo became a subsidiary of Western Union in September 2006, Ms. Hernandez was instrumental in the permanent outsourcing of the back office operations to Mexico and Costa Rica.
Prior to the Money Remittance industry, Ms. Hernandez led various credit card industry teams at institutions such as Chevy Chase Bank of Maryland, and Visa International of San Mateo, California.
Ms. Hernandez holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Language and Linguistics and a minor in Business Administration from The University of Maryland.
