(RQI) was founded in 1985 in New York to serve the Dominican community with their family remittances.  Throughout the past 20 years, RQI had established itself as a leader in serving the US / Dominican market in providing money transfer, telecommunications, travel and shipping services to immigrant communities and has now expanded its money transfer services to over 45 countries throughout Latin America and the rest of the world.

1985

• RQI was founded in NYC establishing a leadership position in family remittances to the Dominican Republic market

1990s

• Became licensed in 6 additional States and Puerto Rico
• In 1995, expanded money transfer service to Mexico and Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras, Argentina, Costa Rica, Haiti, Paraguay, Peru, Chile, Philippines and Uruguay
• Opened Office in Spain
• Expanded services offered to include package delivery, telephony, travel and tax preparation services

2000 - 2007

• Added 12 additional State licenses to its base
• Q-Club Preferred Customer Loyalty program launched
• Service offered to over 40 countries around the globe
• Expansion continued with service to Brazil, Bolivia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Jamaica, Morocco, Moldova, Nicaragua, Panama, Romania and Venezuela
• Along with PC based service, Money Transfers are also offered via a phone based product and on-line through Cashpin.com

2008

• In April, a management team led by Mario Trujillo,  Joseph Venezia and Eduardo Villalobos in partnership with a group of institutional Private Equity Investors led by Palladium Equity Partners, Baird Venture Partners, Adams Street Partners, and Sewanee Ventures acquired RQI and Affiliates as a ‘platform’ for future planned national and international expansion
• Fall: Customer Service and phone-based product functions moved to the Dominican Republic
• Fall: HQ moved to Atlanta, GA while maintaining Regional offices in NYC and Puerto Rico
• Approximately 600 agents and 25 company-owned branch stores in the US and Puerto Rico
• Licensed in 22 States, Canada,  the USVI and Puerto Rico
• Service to over 40 countries via more than 60 international correspondents and their more than 18,000 payout locations
• Added exceptional coverage within México, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras y Costa Rica

2009

• Spring: Licensed in over 28 US States
• Spring: Approximately 800 agents and growing
• Spring: Launched ; money transfer brand targeting Mexico, Central and South America and all non–Spanish speaking countries
• Spring: Licensed in Spain
